  3. Oh, I hate that! When I shop, especially in department stores, I return clothes to the rack I got them from, I fold up things that I unfolded to look at, etc. I worked at JCPenney for two years, and people balling clothes up or throwing them on the floor is a huge pet peeve of mine! I know what it's like to stay an hour after closing trying to neaten things up so it doesn't look like a bomb went off in your section.

  4. Yep. A brief acquaintance once chastized me for cleaning up after myself at a fast food restaurant, claiming I was "putting someone out of a job!". I found his attitude strange and likewise disgusting.

And now after having worked as a cleaner I know it's not the case. You're not putting me out of a job. I had lots of other things to keep me occupied. And truly hated people leaving unnecessary litter and dishes around. Or who used 4 or 5 mugs in a day instead of 1 simply because they could get away with it (as they knew someone had to clean it up). It's an annoyance. Cleaning dishes and emptying trash is enough in itself, making people go find cups and trash is totally additional. :P

  6. My friend worked in a very busy chain hotel at the front desk, and he was also responsible for the breakfast. I suspect the OP works at the same chain. I always felt bad for my friend because they had a juice machine as a 24/7 option also in addition to coffee and tea.

  7. luckily our juice machine is only available during breakfast, but we've had kids figure out how to turn it on before. :/

  8. thank the gods, i've finally heard someone else NOT like that goober!!!

i have a small service dog. she goes everywhere with me (only exception being the nail salon, because, yeah), rides in her own dog bag, and is generally quiet and well behaved.

and last night was one of the few nights she got noticed by EVERYONE. why? waitstaff at one of our regular haunts didn't notice till she moved. then had to remark. another waitress who adores shadow kept saying she's the best behaved dog EVER. (she is not...but she knows how to behave when we're in public, when she has her vest on. at home or in the car? she acts like a dog.)

  9. Those teenagers probably hang out like that elsewhere and no one says anything, which is why they thought they could do it in your pub. But when informed they needed to buy something or leave, they should have left, not try to sneak back in. And when caught, they shouldn't have been rude about the fact that you were kicking them out. They weren't customers, they were taking space from actual customers, and they need to lose the attitude.
